This song has been stuck in my head for the past two days. Panic Switch by Silversun Pickups.
First I blame Greg Roche. (afternoon DJ on DC101) He has been playing this song every single day, I think. I don’t miss many of his broadcasts. Anyway, he thinks the song needs to be a follow-up to one of the Bourne movies. Having never seen them, and detesting Matt Damon, I just got sucked into the song based on the guitar riffs and the strange vocals. At first I thought this was a chick band. Finally, after days of getting the song stuck in my head, I looked it up and got info on the band. Dude. That is a dude singing. Wow.
So, ok. Weird vocals for sure. Only one chick in the band, and I’m still not sure if I like any of their other songs. That said, I’ve played that damned song about 80 times today.
Then comes my other obsession, of course. Bentos. I think I am going to have to stop buying bentos until I:
A) Have more room to store said bentos.
B) Use them more than once every couple of months.
C) Stop going to 7-Eleven in the morning to get my day’s worth of food.
I can’t help it though. I’m hopelessly addicted. I love bentos and bento accessories. I’m worse than Hank Hill and his propane.
Finally, I have gone beyond interest and gotten sucked into the cult that is Hello Kitty love. I blame my daughter. Before she was born I just thought Hello Kitty stuff was cute. I had a few things and that was it. Since then I have been on a mad search to find all things Hello Kitty. I want to buy a Hello Kitty CD player/radio for my daughter’s room. I also want to get her a HK cool-mist vaporizer, HK build-a-bear, and HK blankets.
My husband thinks I’m weird for the interest but has so far been accepting of the quirk. Just don’t mention to him that Hello Kitty sun-shades for the car are on the way from my most recent ebay purchase.
